Today we decided to do something a bit different, slacklining. Slacklining is a bit like tight rope walking. Where it is relevant to Biathlon is that it helps develop balance and the muscles in your legs and core that keep you falling off the line also keep you gliding on your ski. NSW branch members Jenny Kent and I competed in the Merino Muster last Saturday 1st September.. The Merino Muster is held at Snowfarm, near Wanaka, New Zealand. Snowfarm was previously used for sheep grazing, and is now used for cross-country skiing and is also the site of the Southern Hemisphere Proving Ground (winter testing of cars). Our biathletes did well at the Hoppet, Falls Creek last weekend and University Games at Mt Buller today. Hoppet: Jill was the third AUS woman in the 42 km , Darcie the winner of the 20km event. Mt Buller University Games: Jill swept up the gold medals in the individual, Sprint and relay events. Damon was the third in the men’s individual, with our biathletes Placing first and second in the men’s relay events! Go biathletes!
