Three Generations of Cranages in Biathlon - Peter Cranage, His Son Wilson and Bob Cranage

This photo was taken yesterday at the SSAA Wodonga Christmas Shoot at the Wodonga Biathlon Range. Junior Biathletes took part in the Novelty events.

Biathlon's Laser Rifles and as well the new Ecoaims Rifle were in full use by everyone for over 4 hours till the batteries failed. Many SSAA senior shooters had their first experience at the biathlon metal falling plates, and also had a go with the laser rifles. For the first time, their children under 12 were able to actively participate with laser rifles.

Who are the Cranages? Bob's the Granddaddy in Australian Biathlon. He was part of the team who started up the sport back in the eighties, encouraged development of Biathlon and made the Hotham Range happen. Bob's son, Peter competed at Biathlon World Cups and Junior World Biathlon Champs in the late 1980's, and his son Wilson recently competed at our Interschool biathlon events.
