Coach Alex Heads Off To Lausanne 2020 as Ambassador


Alex Almoukov, our guest specialist biathlon coach is part of the AOC's team at the Winter Youth Olympic Games 2020.  Alex has been appointed as IOC Athlete 365 and is the liaison for athlete services, assistant manager for performance for biathlon and cross country skiing and as well liaison for the Athlete 365 Education Program.  Congratulations, Alex! Alex is Australia's highest ranked male biathlete at the Olympics, having placed 44th in the Individual event at Sochi 2014. He is a double Olympian and also represented Australia at Vancouver 2010. Alex, 29, was a consistently hard worker on the IBU competition circuit prior to retirement. He not only competed regularly at World Cup, World Championships and at European Championships but also raced at IBU cup to help the IBU cup team mates in relay events. Alex is well qualified to help our young biathletes at Lausanne, David Patterson, Christian Mahon, Jonte Treasure, Isabella Moon, Luka Miskin and Chelsey Johnson.
