Our AUS girls raced at Ridnaun Italy and Pokljuka Slovenia last night, both Sprint events.
Jill Colebourn scored her Personal Best with IBU Q-Points 118.66, placed 38th! Congratulations, Jill! AUS has not had this caliber of Woman athlete for over 20 years.
The IBU hold in such high regard results under 125 points that just one result <125 is qualification to IBU World Cup. The standard method is the average of 3 best results over the most recent 3 trimesters of a minimum of 150 points. This recognises that all athletes have up and down days, yet retains the highest standard of the best athletes with current qualifications.
IBU Junior Cup 2, Pokljuka Slovenia:
Isabella Moon led our team of 3 AUS women to be placed 89th in a strong field from Juniors from across Europe. Our women did well in gaining race experience in this competitive field of athletes. All three of our Junior Women here have been selected by the AOC to represent Australia at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics in Lausanne in January. Congratulations to Isabella Moon, Lulu Miskin and Chelsey Johnson!
