Sunday training and Summer Sprint
Sydney was hot and humid today so roller skiing was hot work. It was early in the morning but already we could feel the heat. Today the focus was on free skating and one-skate. We held a short race for which Nour, a relative newcomer, showed his potential with a resounding victory.
After our usual target shooting training we held a Summer Biathlon race. The race consisted of a run, shooting from the prone position, another run, shooting from the standing position and a final run to the end. Despite temperatures of 34 degrees Celsius it was a excellent fun. Summer Biathlon races like this are something I really look forward to and it is an excellent training tool as it simulates shooting under the stress of competition and having a high heart rate. For this race we were lucky enough to have a junior entering the event for the first time.
